We had an amazing tour with Vera! Although we did not have much time, Vera took this into account and tailored the tour specifically to our needs. She answered all questions knowledgeably and was fun and charming to be around. We would highly recommend Vera's tours!
We had a fantastic time with Vera, who took my friend and me on a tour of the old Dutch area of the city. Vera is extremely knowledgeable about history, culture and traditions and provided us with so much interesting information. My favorite part was a visit with the puppet master artist in his workshop behind the puppet museum. He showed us the entire process of puppet making, and then gave us a puppet performance. An experience I will never forget!!
It was a very good tour of the Chinese quarters and Batavia. The reservation was very felxible and our guide Vera was excellent. She is very knowledgeable and nice. We also learned a lot about life and customs in Indonesia. And she had good advise for us on things to try out later on in the city. It was a very good way to make to most out of the little free time we had with my colleagues in Jakarta.
Highly recommended! Vera is very knowledgeable about the city's history and culture. She answered every question I had. Enjoyable experience
Vera is an amazing young woman; intelligent, informed, curious and totally delightful and engaging. On the Old Batavia walking tour we found that she was more than competent to answer our many detailed questions, not only about the history of Jakarta, but on so many other issues that interested us about Indonesia. It is not too much walking but enough to feel the area and disclose some surprises. She charmed us with her humour, sincere and informed viewpoints and personal manner. At the end of the tour she generously shared her tips on local food stalls and restaurants for us to explore on our own and cared for our safety and comfort in a professional manner.
In our opinion having a good guide like Vera, is the secret to try and understand another culture. We just love a ‘go- get’ woman running her own business and creating an independent lifestyle.
5 out of 5 from us
I went on a walking tour of the old town square and port areas and then Monas Park with Vera. I had a visitor in town and we were quite prescriptive of what we did and didn't want to do and see. Vera was very flexible and tailored the tour to our needs. I loved the Maritime Museum and going up the old clock tower. The port was so interesting - very different to other Asian ports I've visited. Vera really knows her stuff and she was more than happy to take pictures throughout (which she sent on promptly) and answer questions on Indonesian culture/history/arts etc. I really liked that she recommended other places in Jakarta that I could visit on my own. Highly recommended. Thank you, Vera!
