A great time with Vera

We had an amazing tour with Vera! Although we did not have much time, Vera took this into account and tailored the tour specifically to our needs. She answered all questions knowledgeably and was fun and charming to be around. We would highly recommend Vera's tours!

We had a fantastic time with Vera, who took my friend and me on a tour of the old Dutch area of the city. Vera is extremely knowledgeable about history, culture and traditions and provided us with so much interesting information. My favorite part was a visit with the puppet master artist in his workshop behind the puppet museum. He showed us the entire process of puppet making, and then gave us a puppet performance. An experience I will never forget!!

Excellent City Tour

It was a very good tour of the Chinese quarters and Batavia. The reservation was very felxible and our guide Vera was excellent. She is very knowledgeable and nice. We also learned a lot about life and customs in Indonesia. And she had good advise for us on things to try out later on in the city. It was a very good way to make to most out of the little free time we had with my colleagues in Jakarta.

Vera is an amazing young woman; intelligent, informed, curious and totally delightful and engaging. On the Old Batavia walking tour we found that she was more than competent to answer our many detailed questions, not only about the history of Jakarta, but on so many other issues that interested us about Indonesia. It is not too much walking but enough to feel the area and disclose some surprises. She charmed us with her humour, sincere and informed viewpoints and personal manner. At the end of the tour she generously shared her tips on local food stalls and restaurants for us to explore on our own and cared for our safety and comfort in a professional manner.
In our opinion having a good guide like Vera, is the secret to try and understand another culture. We just love a ‘go- get’ woman running her own business and creating an independent lifestyle.
5 out of 5 from us

JakartaWalkingTour was exactly what we had hoped for! Our guide customized the tour for us, spoke English very well,  knew her way around a very complicated city, had key contacts at various locations to provide expertise and/or behind the scenes insights, as well as explained what we were seeing and answered our many questions. We plan to be repeat customers!

The Old Town tour was a perfect introduction to Jakarta’s history, and I can’t say enough good things about Vera, my guide. She is a gem. Seeing the city with her made the tour especially memorable.

She was lovely company during this private tour to Jakarta's old town and the other stops. It was a great way to explore Jakarta in a short time, experience the local transportation and get to more information about life and people in Indonesia by a local. I can highly recommend this tour and tour guide. Thank you for this lovely day!

To be recommended!

I had a very pleasant walk in old Batavia with Vera, who has shown me the most remarkable sites in the area. More than that, she has shared with me the views of a Jakartan, something you don't necessarily get by reading Western guidebooks. To be recommended!
